DBA at Conquest

Since posting my comments regarding Tagcon I've been challenged by one of the locals to run a DBA competition at an upcoming local convention here in Christchurch, specifically "Conquest". Having discussed the proposal with the convention organiser and gauged local support we seem to have a green light for a 15mm DBA competition at "Conquest" on Saturday the 31st of October 2009.

The selected DBA theme is armies from 500BC to 450AD. This covers all the armies of section II of the DBA rules, some 84 armies, along with a further 21 armies from section I. So, if you want to try some Ancient wargaming over a single day without excessive complication this could be your answer. You also don't need to be an expert to play DBA, many of those joining us will have played very few games. Further details on the 15mm DBA competition can be found here.

Now, a request. If you are interested in playing DBA at "Conquest" please contact me early to assist with organisation. Further, should you not have an army for this theme there may also be a very limited number of loan armies available. That said if you are quick you may be able to paint a DBA army for the theme. After all you only need 12 elements!

For the record the image above is taken from Menix Miniatures' excellent 15mm Seleucid gallery.

  1. This is a great idea. Thanks for organizing it. I'm looking forward to bringing along a Pictish army for this.

  2. There seems a resonable amount of interest so I am hopeful we will have a reasonable number of players.
